COgnitive modes, Social MOtives and PROsocial BEhavior
A project financed by the Italian Ministry of Education and Research (PRIN 2017)
We bring together a variety of competences and methods to address the following research question:
How can we operate through cognition to foster prosocial behavior?
We start from the hypothesis that:
social motives are the main drivers of prosocial behavior;
different cognitive modes activate different types of social motives.
Research methods involve:
theoretical analysis based on evolutionary models;
empirical analysis, based on lab, online and field experiments.
